1. Get a Reward Card. You can sign up for one at the customer service desk (which will instantly start to work) or you can go online and have one mailed to you.
2. Know the coupon policy. Here are the highlights of Kroger’s coupon policy:
Note: This policy is for the Southwest (TX/LA) region only.
If you are in theHouston area, there are 104 stores that will no longer double/triple beginning on April 13th in the following cities:
Alvin, Angleton, Baytown, Beaumont, Clute, Conroe, Crosby, Cypress, Dickinson, Friendswood, Galveston, Hedwig Village, Houston, Humble/Kingwood, Huntsville, Katy, La Porte, League City, Magnolia, Missouri City, Orange, Pasadena, Pearland, Porter, Richmond, Rosenberg, Seabrook, Spring, Sugar Land, Texas City, The Woodlands, Tomball, and Willis.
For those of you who are worried about doubling/tripling stopping in your area, Kroger stated the following quote on their Facebook wall:
Thanks to all for your feedback and comments regarding coupons. We want to make sure that you know the only market making changes in a double/triple coupon program is HOUSTON metropolitan area stores. We are not changing any other geographic area.
Make sure to print the new coupon policy off and keep it with you when shopping to avoid any issues. There’s also an FAQ to the guidelines you may want to keep with you as well:
A few other highlights that I didn’t mention in the video:
:: Items returned will be refunded at the after coupon price. The coupon will not be returned to the customer.
:: A manufacturer coupon and a Kroger Store Coupon may be use on the same item.
:: Competitor Catalina Manufacturer Coupons are accepted.
(i.e. $1 off Goldfish catalina coupon printed from Tom Thumb)
:: Free product printable coupons are not accepted.
:: Printable Coupons having value more than 75% of the item price are not accepted.
In the DFW area, coupons worth $0.39 or less will triple face amount, and coupons worth $0.50 or less will double face amount. However, only three-like coupons will be doubled/tripled in the same transaction.
Example: I want to buy 6 boxes of Granola bars. I have a $0.40 off coupon for each box. The first 3 will ring as $0.40 + $0.40 store matching ($0.80 total), the last 3 will be $0.80 total.
You may want to split up transactions in order to get the best price in a situation like above.
3. Load eCoupons for more savings. Kroger allows four different types of eCoupons, that load directly to your reward card! Sign up for Cellfire and Kroger Digital Coupons. Remember that eCoupons cannot be combined with paper coupons.

4. Know the weekly ads. Kroger’s weekly ads begin on Wednesday and end the following Tuesday. Kroger often runs different promotions where you can mix and match participating items to get instant savings on your bill. These are called Mega Events, and usually run for two weeks. You can also earn fuel points to get $0.10 off per gallon when you buy certain products, which will total at the end of your receipt, or you can check your balance online.
