First let me say this:
There are many ways to live a frugal life. I can whip up a batch of hot deals with a cherry on top like nobody’s business. On the flip side, I completely fail at many DIY projects, and I’ll never give up my cable to save on my monthly budget. Hey, if $50 a month means I can watch the Real Housewives of {insert city here} and feel better about myself as a person, it’s a justifiable expense.
My point? Frugals can teach each other a lot because there’s so many options and ways to save money. No matter how fluent you are in “frugal”, this option should be an easy and great fit for everyone!
Now onto the good stuff:
We all have those favorite spots we love to shop at. Two of mine are Kohl’s and The Children’s Place. Of course, the same goes for dining out. If you get a coupon for those stores you love, that’s a great start! But, why not easily maximize those savings? There’s another great step before your coupon to help your discount get a little deeper…
Discounted gift cards!
There’s a website called GiftCardRescue.com that buys and sells gift cards. If you are looking to buy a gift card, simply click “Buy Gift Cards” at the top of the site, and you’ll see all of the current gift cards you can purchase at a discount of up to 30% off! Every single gift card also ships for FREE, so you won’t have any added expenses from ordering online. If you aren’t seeing gift cards that interest you, remember to check back later as the gift cards are always changing.
Here’s some examples of gift cards I’m seeing on the site right now:
- 13% off a $25 AMC Entertainment gift card. Pay $21.75 and feel better when you are eating your overpriced popcorn on date night.
- 15% off a $25 Borders gift card. Pay $21.25 and now you can save up even more at the 200 Borders stores that are closing in April.
- 15% off a $25 JCPenney gift card. Pay $21.25 and use with those $10/$25 coupons they always release.
- 10% off a $25 Justice gift card. Pay $22.50 and get your tween some clothing for less.
- 10% off a $50 Marshalls gift card. Pay $45 and get even more deeply discounted clothes out of your trip.
This is such a great way to save on stores or restaurants that don’t usually have coupon offers, and an even better way to help bring down your total on the stores you do receive coupons for often.
My question to you: Have you ever bought discounted gift cards?
If not, did you ever realize you could?
