1. No Reward Card Needed. In Dallas, Texas, Albertsons LLC did away with a loyalty card a few years back, which has it’s pros and cons. The good thing is that you automatically get the sale prices without needing a card. However, there will never be any type of perks to frequent shopping and no eCoupons can be used here.
2. Know the coupon policy. Here are the highlights of Albertson’s coupon policy:
- They will accept “BOGOF” coupons, but they will not accept printable coupons for free products. This means if you have a coupon for a free box of Excedrin, they will not take it. This is likely because of the high amount of fraud on those coupons.
-They will usually not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product’s value. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided advance notice by the manufacturer.
In the DFW area, coupons worth .39c or less will triple face amount, and coupons worth .50c or less will double face amount. However, only four-like coupons will be doubled/tripled in the same transaction.
{i.e. I want to buy 6 boxes of Granola bars. I have a .40c off coupon for each box. The first 4 will ring as .40c + .40c store matching (.80c total), the last 2 will be .40c total}
You may want to split up transactions in order to get the best price in a situation like above.
3. Know the weekly ads. Albertson’s weekly ads begin on Wednesday and end the following Tuesday. There are usually in-ad weekly coupons as well. Albertsons has
