One thing I learned about saving time and money is that planning and organization are KEY. Of course, it took my many failed attempts before I had that epiphany. I’m also a person who is more than happy to go for the “easy route”. E-Mealz allows you to plan out your meals AND make it as easy as possible to do so. The new weekly menu plans are designed around grocery store sales, seasonal specials, and diet preferences. So if you have a gluten-free family member like we do, E-Mealz has it all sorted out for you!

E-Mealz is easy to navigate. All you do is log in and download a recipe plan for the week, which includes a matching aisle-by-aisle grocery list. Most of the recipes have fewer than 7 ingredients, which is great for saving money. I’ve used other menu planning sites before, and I must say that the matching aisle-by-aisle grocery list with prices totally blows me away. You can easily pair up your coupons and be set for your trip.

It’s only $1.25 per week ($5/month) and believe me when I say it’s well worth the money. Even Dave Ramsey himself recommends E-Mealz.

· Each $1 spent on groceries = 1 point

· Each $1 spent on qualifying gift cards = 2 points

· Each prescription filled = 50 points

Every 100 points get you 10¢ off per gallon for a single fill-up at a Tom Thumb gas station. You can use your points in increments of 100 and use up to 1000 points for a single fill-up:

How to get your Kids to Help Clean Up + WIN a House Cleaner for the Day!

There are days when it looks like a tornado came to visit my home. We both work from home, which somehow makes cleaning the house harder. Then you throw in the three year old with her toys and stuffed animals and books. Regardless of how may house may look at the moment, my daughter is learning and understanding how to be responsible for her items.

Ever since she was old enough to pick up a toy, the “Clean Up” song was sung all..day..long. I felt it was important for her to know that when we finish with whatever item we are using, it’s time to put it up. Then she hit the toddler age, and seemed confused that my items were everywhere but her items had to be put up.

Now we make it a nightly ordeal to pick up the clutter. I don’t even have to tell my daughter to “clean up” anymore. She sees me picking up my items, and she begins picking up hers. Kids do so well with imitation, which can work for or against you. So, hey. I say make it work for you.

We also recently invested in a LOT of simple organization bins for my daughter’s room. Now that she is fully aware of putting all of her items in big bins, we are going to help her learn to categorize a little better. Nothing over the top of course- just simple things like a “stuffed animals” bin, a “books” bin, and a “dolls” bin.
